Rövid összefoglaló Dr. Terry Oleson szakmai önéletrajzából

Dr. Terry Oleson az auriculoterápia nemzetközileg elismert előadó tanára. 1946 feb. 6-án született Kaliforniában, Pacific Palisades-ban. Egyetemi biológiai alapképzését Kaliforniai Egyetemen Santa Barbarában végezte 1967-ben, doktori fokozatát pedig pszichobiológusként ugyancsak a Kaliforniai Egyetemen, Irvinben kapta meg 1973-ban.

Míg posztdoktori gyakornokként dolgozott a Kaliforniai Egyetem Fájdalomkezelési Központjában, úttörő kutatásokat vezetett az auriculoterápiás diagnosztizálás, valamint a fülakupunktúra területén. Bevezette a vázizomzat rendellenességeinek diagnosztizálásában a dupla vak tudományos kiértékelést. Kutatásainak eredményeit 1980-ban a Pain című folyóiratban közölte.

Dr. Oleson fülakupunktúrával kapcsolatos szabványosított tudományos terminológiára vonatkozó munkásságát az Egészségügyi Világszervezet (WHO) értekezletén mutatta be.

A Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine és a Medical Acupuncture szerkesztői testületének tagja. Magánpraxisa Kaliforniában van, a los angelesi Westside-on.
